§ 26-100. Special events.

  • Notwithstanding sections 26-91 and 26-92, a public entity or nonprofit organization may apply for a special event permit with the city to host a temporary event which serves alcohol, as defined herein, at a public park or public place. A proposed special event must fully meet the requirements set forth by the state alcoholic beverage commission and will be subject to additional requirements (such as security, distance from residential areas, etc.) imposed by the city council to protect the health, safety and welfare of the public. A special event shall not be held under this provision for more than three consecutive days. Further, a public entity or nonprofit organization shall not be able to apply for a special event permit more than three times per calendar year nor more than one occurrence per month.
